From the moment our guide picked us up at the airport until we were dropped off 12 days later, we felt completely in excellent hands. While thrilling at times, we never felt unsafe and we learned far more about Tanzania and its incredible wildlife than we ever expected.Our guide went out of his way to point out new and interesting bird species, sharing an amazing depth of knowledge. He had excellent reference books for anyone wanting to learn more and was exceptional at spotting wildlife even animals hidden hundreds of feet away in the trees while explaining their behavior in fascinating detail.He also gave us insight into everyday life in Tanzania and took us to a local flea market, where, as the only tourists, it felt special to experience this authentic local event. The lodges we stayed at were all very comfortable and the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.We compared quotes from other operators and found Mwanamshiki Tours & Safaris very well priced, with the added benefit that they are locally owned, so our fees directly supported the local economy. Every day we have meet a new breathtaking landscapes, fascinating wildlife and beautiful moments that remain in our lifetime.We started our journey in immersive Kenya, exploring the Maasai Mara, where we witnessed lions, elephants, giraffes and even the Great Migration. The endless plains were stunning and our children were amazed to see so many animals up close in their natural home. Meeting the Maasai people and learning about their traditions was a highlight that gave us a deep appreciation for their culture.At Amboseli National Park, we enjoyed spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds while watching herds of elephants roam freely it was a magical scene we’ll never forget. We then relaxed by Lake Naivasha, taking a peaceful boat ride among hippos and birds, which was a wonderful family experience.Crossing into Tanzania, the adventure continued in Serengeti National Park, where every game drive felt like a dream come true. We saw cheetahs, leopards, wildbeest migration and even a family of lions with cubs all while surrounded by the vast, golden plains that make the Serengeti so famous.The Ngorongoro Crater was another unforgettable stop descending into the crater felt like stepping into a different world filled with wildlife at every turn. Tarangire National Park amazed us with its giant baobab trees and huge elephant herds, while Lake Manyara offered lush scenery and playful monkeys in the forest.In Arusha, we enjoyed a city tour that showed us the local life, colorful markets, and friendly people before continuing to Gombe National Park for a once-in-a-lifetime chimpanzee trekking experience. Walking through the rainforest to see the chimps in their natural environment was both thrilling and educational for the whole family.Finally, we ended our trip in Zanzibar, where we spent peaceful days relaxing on the beach, exploring the old town and enjoying the island’s crystal-clear waters and delicious food. It was the perfect way to unwind after so many days of adventure.Everything was perfectly organised from the comfortable family lodges to our friendly guides who were so knowledgeable and patient with our kids. We always felt safe, well taken care of and inspired by everything we saw.This 20-day safari was more than just a vacation; it was a family journey filled with discovery, learning and connection. Mwanamshiki Tours and Safaris hap made out our safari excellent from the point of inquiries to the last drop. Then going to Gombe national park for trekking was very wonderfully the we last our adventure in Tanzania through Zanzibar island.
