Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Your incredible East African journey begins as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, nestled at the foothills of Mount Meru. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your friendly company representative, who will assist you with luggage and transfer you to your lodge in Arusha, Tanzania’s safari hub.

Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to unwind at your lodge and enjoy its serene gardens or explore the city at your leisure. Optional activities could include visiting the vibrant Maasai markets, the Cultural Heritage Centre, or simply relaxing in preparation for the adventure ahead. In the evening, enjoy a delicious welcome dinner and briefing by your guide about the upcoming safari route.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha and head toward Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated treasures. Famed for its majestic baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and huge herds of elephants, Tarangire offers an authentic and uncrowded safari experience.

Your game drive will take you along the Tarangire River, a lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. Here, you’ll spot elephants bathing, lions lounging under trees, giraffes nibbling on acacia, and possibly leopards in the branches. Bird lovers will be thrilled by the park’s impressive 500+ species.

After a full day of exploration and a scenic picnic lunch inside the park, you’ll continue your game drive before checking in at your lodge for dinner and a relaxed evening under the stars.

Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

Today you begin your journey toward one of the most iconic wildlife destinations on the planet the Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, set off through the scenic highlands and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, making your way toward the endless plains of the Serengeti.

As you enter the park via the Naabi Hill Gate, you’ll start encountering wildlife immediately. The Serengeti’s name means “endless plains” in Maasai, and this vast ecosystem is home to the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle cross the plains in search of greener pastures, followed closely by predators.

Enjoy a thrilling game drive en route to your tented camp, watching for lions on the prowl, elephants in family groups, or cheetahs scanning the horizon. Arrive at your camp in time for a hearty dinner and a night under canvas, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Wake up to the melodic calls of birds and the rustle of the savannah as another incredible day unfolds in the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, embark on both morning and afternoon game drives in different areas of the park, each offering unique ecosystems and wildlife sightings.

Today, you’ll explore open plains, riverine forests, and rocky kopjes, where lions often lounge in the sun. Track prides of lions, elusive leopards resting in acacia trees, and perhaps witness a hunt in action. During the dry season, the Central Serengeti becomes a haven for predators and prey alike, while in migration months, the northern corridor roars to life with river crossings and drama.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic spot, soaking in the vastness of Africa’s most legendary landscape. Return to camp for a relaxing evening by the campfire, listening to distant hyenas and stargazing beneath one of the clearest skies on Earth.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After a final breakfast in the bush, bid farewell to the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Africa. Descend 600 meters into the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Spend the day game viewing on the crater floor, where you’ll likely encounter the Big Five  lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo as well as zebras, flamingos, hippos, hyenas, and more. The compact geography and rich grazing make this one of the best places in Africa for wildlife photography.

After your picnic lunch by the hippo pool, ascend the crater walls and journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 6: Arusha – Amboseli National Park (via Namanga Border)

Today, your safari continues into Kenya! After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Namanga border post for immigration formalities and vehicle change. Once you’ve crossed into Kenya, your Kenyan guide will welcome you and continue the drive to Amboseli National Park.

Arrive in Amboseli in time for an afternoon game drive. Known for its enormous elephant herds and jaw-dropping views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli is a dream for nature lovers and photographers alike. Capture silhouettes of elephants against the mountain and look out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators such as lions and cheetahs.

Check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and unwind as the sounds of the Kenyan wilderness fill the air.

Day 7: Amboseli – Nairobi (Departure)

After breakfast and a scenic picnic lunch, begin your drive to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon or evening. Depending on your international flight schedule, you will either be transferred directly to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or dropped off at your hotel for an optional overnight stay (available on request).
